Sport and Active Learning
A focus on movement, teamwork and skills
Yidarra Catholic Primary School believes that active learning is not only good for physical health, it is also essential for positive wellbeing and provides children with the opportunity to explore various skills.
Our Sport and Physical Education program is developed to give each child the opportunity to participate in weekly physical activity with the primal focus to develop positive competition, team work, sportsmanship and the satisfaction of doing their best.
Throughout their schooling, students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sporting pursuits and have access to the great facilities at Yidarra Catholic Primary School including a netball/basketball court, a large grassed oval and a well-stocked sports shed.
Our school students participate in sports at an Interschool level which include: Football, Netball, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, League Tag, Swimming, Cricket and Athletics.
Our students also participate in three school competitions throughout the year including swimming, cross country and athletics.
At Yidarra the students compete in four different factions McAuley (Green), Mercy (Gold), More (Blue) and McCormack (Red).
Each class participates in Physical Education lessons once a week delivered by Mr. Debowski.
